WHAT SETS US APART?
Why ELDC? There are so many dance schools… what sets you apart?’
The most crucial element of what sets us apart from the rest, is the professional experience and knowledge that Ellise carries. Ellise is one of very few dancers/teachers in the area who has a real career in the dance industry, UK and internationally and can speak from this experience, from TV shows, films, commercials, live shows for brands and artists etc.
Ellise is still a current agency represented working dancer and has previously worked with some of the top choreographers, on the best jobs the dance industry has to offer and has many current connections. You could definitely say she has ‘walked the walk’. Along with her professional credits which include many household names, she also gained full scholarships to train at the best vocational schools in the UK, which she left with top marks in the highest qualification possible (1st class Bachelor Honors degree) for her field in professional and commercial dance. So not only are your dancers being taught by someone who knows exactly what it takes to make it, they’re also getting the knowledge needed to go hand in hand.
Along with her intense training, Ellise also caught the eye of Miss Abby Lee Miller from the popular TV show DANCE MOMS and was awarded a full scholarship by Miss Abby to train in Los Angeles at the ALDC LA over a summer, which she decided is her favourite city to train in and returns every summer for more.
It’s no coincidence the dancers who attend the studio and take it all in are excelling at unrecognised rate. Ellise’s passion for coaching and inspiring the younger generation of dancers has always been bigger than her desires to perform herself, she says ‘life isn’t about what you’ve got, it’s about what you can give.’
‘Why haven’t we heard of you before?’
We are pretty much BRAND NEW! Ellise lived, studied and worked in big cities including LA for sometime after she left her local Cannock high school. Paradise Studios was set up in 2019 by renting school halls and scaled quicker than we could cope with. We quickly realised we needed a permanent home and Paradise Studios Dance Complex was opened in September 2020. However due to covid, we’ve only physically been open around 18 months. We don’t advertise constantly as most classes are very much full and our clients find us through word of mouth which works very well for us. (And honestly, we haven’t had time to shout it from the rooftops just yet!)
‘Id love my child to dance, but this sounds expensive’.
Another reason Paradise Studios / ELDC is starting to be recognised by professionals all over the country is for its spectacular studio space. The dance complex itself is inspired by Ellise’s time training over in Los Angeles and she poured her savings into making it extra special and nothing like anything in the area. The majority of money earned by the studio is put back into it to improve the studios, upgrade equipment, enhance the coaches knowledge and make it the most amazing place to train in. Although our tuition is priced competitively in line with local dance schools, the training, opportunities and experience dancers receive with us is above value in comparison.
We don’t do fundraisers, so you’ll never be asked to help when the studio needs investments. Likewise Ellise also knows the struggle of being a dancer who’s parents couldn’t afford the training. Right from the get go we had dancers on full and part scholarships paid for by Ellise herself. To date, We currently have six students from low income households on scholarships along with sibling discounts, totalling around £4,000 per year. We also allow five weeks of unpaid tuition for dancers on standing orders.
‘What else should we know?’
Did you know, to open a dance school in the uk you currently don’t need ANY formal qualifications? It is possible to open your own private dance school or studio with (or without) a one day exam/course that costs a few hundred pounds and awards you with a certificate of successful. Depending on the level of training you’re looking for, this is a huge factor to consider.
Just for reference as we understand this kind of information isn’t usually out there, The Ba Honors Degree (Ellise holds) from a vocational school is audition only meaning not all applicants are successful in gaining entry, along with prior high grades in academic dance studies required, the course lasts around 3 years and consists of 9+ training hours per day costing roughly £27,750 for the tuition alone. Another thing to note is that a Ba Honors degree at a standard university is not the same as a degree at an audition only vocational training school as the physical training is a very different standard.
Paradise is also home to an Elite dance company known as the ELDC, who have quite literally sky rocketed in the competition world, winning overall awards and championship titles within the first 12 months. Our main aim with the ELDC girls is to get them ready and prepared for the professional industry and vocational school of thier choice whilst also giving them the experiences and opportunities they need to thrive and of course to have fun and make their training as enjoyable as possible. We also hold dance camps over school holidays, fun days, parties, annual galas and much much more that are open to all dancers regardless of age and ability. The possibilities are endless.
Ellise also studies and has certificates in neuro linguistic programming which is a technique used by Olympic athletes and their coaches to train their minds and rewire their subconscious thought patterns into positive outcomes, believing they can achieve anything they put their mind to. One of the first things most new clients comment on is their dancers confidence after joining the studio, which is a result of the NLP methods. These techniques are particularly important in Acro which is a hot class at the studio. She also has qualifications in personal training, fitness coaching, Acrobatics and many more which all support her role in leading dancers to where ever they want to get to in their dance journeys.
She may seem young to most but Ellise has successfully been running her own businesses as an Entrepreneur (part and full time) for over a decade now in industries such as property, e-commerce, freelance and many more. Currently alongside the studio and her studio staff, she is also an online coach to thousands of other entrepreneurs specialising in scaling businesses via Social media. Her innocent, kind hearted nature may come across naive at times, but she has more experience in running the show than most will ever know and it’s only getting bigger and better from here.
So if you’re looking for a professional through and through, someone to inspire your dancer and lead them to greatness from real experience unlocking their full potential, then Paradise might just be the studio for you.
Your journey awaits,
